To report a repair:

Your responsibilities
- Resetting trip switches and, if necessary, turning off the mains supply. See Resetting a trip switch.
- Replacing light bulbs, fluorescent tubes and starters.
- Testing and cleaning any smoke detector fitted in your home, and replacing the battery if it is battery-operated (not mains-wired). See Smoke detector.
Advice
- DO NOT TOUCH bare wires and DO NOT TOUCH sockets or switches with wet hands.
- DO NOT PAINT smoke alarms or electrical fittings.
- ALWAYS switch off electricity at the mains (consumer unit/fuse board) before touching fittings.
- Make sure that you know where the trip switches are located in your home.
- Make sure you know how to reset the trip switches if they trip off. See Resetting a trip switch.
- If you cause any damage to electrical fittings, we will do the repair and charge you the cost of the repair. We will also charge you if you call us out when you have not fed your meter.
- If water is leaking onto electrical fittings or a fitting is dangerous, do not use any switches connected to it and contact your local TMO immediately.
- If you want to do any electrical work in your home, you must first get permission from your local TMO. The work must be done by a qualified and certified electrician.
We need to know
- What is the problem, eg: no lights or power in part of, or throughout the property;
light or light switch not working; socket loose or broken?
- What type of fitting or socket is it?
- Are other homes in your block or nearby buildings affected? Check with your neighbours.
- Are there any other connected problems?
