Andrew Smith

Andrew began his career in recruitment and then became a Financial Consultant at Lloyds TSB.  After this, he started his career in housing, managing aids and adaptations and home renovations for vulnerable people.  Following stock transfer, he joined Golden Gates Housing in Warrington as Planned Maintenance Manager for the Direct Labour Service and then progressed to Asset and Compliance Manager where, following a merger to become Torus, he managed the transfer of Asset Data.

In 2018 Andrew joined Salvation Army Housing Association as Head of Property Services, responsible for national coverage of repairs, maintenance and voids for Supported Housing for homeless and young vulnerable people. Andrew later took responsibility of Asset Investment Strategy, Compliance and Capital Delivery.

Andrew has a master’s degree in Sport Science, Qualified Financial Planner and has a HNC in Construction. Although he grew up in the scenic Forest of Dean he now lives near Warrington.

Joining WATMOS as Executive Director of Asset Management and Regeneration in 2023. Andrew has a real passion for driving values and creating a culture of inclusivity, respect and excellence.  Andrew has 20 years Social Housing experience of developing asset investment strategies, regulatory compliance, systems integration, procurement, contract management and stakeholder engagement.  Andrew has a strong social conscience motivated by helping others thrive independently.
