Helping Hands Collective provides a warm space for all
Since they began the Helping Hands Collective by shopping for neighbours during the pandemic, Stephanie David and Charlene Howard have grown HHC into a popular weekly community pantry with over 300 members.
Based at the Harry Caddick Community Centre, as well as providing low-cost groceries, HHC offers locals a welcoming cafe, clubs for knitting, crochet and dominoes, health and well-being workshops and support groups.
HHC’s founders and volunteers share a simple vision: a community where everyone has access to the resources they need to live a healthy, fulfilling life
In 2026, HHC plan to expand their warm-space initiative, so that anybody can spend time in a heated, friendly space, with hot and cold refreshments provided.
Helping Hands Collective is a community food pantry and warm space, offering a low-cost shop from £2.50 for 10 items. Enjoy free light refreshments and bring your own bags. Open to all.
