Brixton People’s Kitchen Launch Community Meals
Based at 139 Lambeth Walk, Brixton People’s Kitchen tackles food waste and poverty with low-cost, delicious meals. As well as sumptuous snacks, they offer workshops, holiday activities and a welcoming space centred around the community. Cafe manager, Jumoke Falana, says:
“BPK don’t only do the best value coffee and cake around: if local residents want to learn or teach a new skill, they can volunteer. And, if someone can’t pay, we make sure they don’t go away hungry.”
Their latest initiative is a community meal for locals. Find out about these, as well as volunteering, workshops and more, in the cafe, via instagram @brixtonpk, or www.brixtonpeopleskitchen.com BPK Cafe opens Wed to Fri 8-4pm and Sat 8am - 2pm.
(Also in the Ethelred area, the Share Community Cafe offers free and low-cost meals at the Black Prince Hub, 5 Beaufoy Walk, SE11 6AA, Mon to Fri 10am - 3.30pm,)
