Ethelred Community Garden Plan
Whether you love to wield a trowel, or just like being around flowers and butterflies, Ethelred’s community gardens are there for all to enjoy. And this spring, residents will be able to vote on proposals to bring the gardens back to their best.
The raised beds were once full of ornamentals and edibles. But recent times have seen less weeding and planting. And although re-wilding has upsides, the space isn’t living its best life as a hive of horticultural activity.
Ethelred residents have told us they would like to see the gardens brought back to life. Community gardens provide opportunities to spend time with nature, get to know neighbours, stay active and see the fruits of your labour. We couldn’t agree more ! So, the Watmos Community team asked local gardening charities how they could help.
Residents will be able to see the different charities’ proposals and vote on who to partner with in a meeting this March. Together, we’ll get the gardens growing again .
If you w ould like to start gardening, or just see the estate looking its best, have your say ! Find out more by contacting Community@Watmos.org.uk or 07399 347 470.
