Forest School, the Gentle Wild, have started an after-school club on the Magdalen estate. Here, we ask Siobhan from the Gentle Wild what’s on offer.
What is happening at Magdalen?
We are launching a new after-school club for children in Reception to Year 6.
Where and when?
Thursdays 3.30 - 5pm in the meadow. An optional "walking bus" pick up from Henry Cavendish school is available. Term-time only.
How much does it cost?
A limited number of subsidised spaces are available for Magdalen Residents only at £3.50 per child p/session (Discount code available on request). The full price is £15 per child.
What will the children get to do?
All sorts! Bug hunting, nature crafts, den building, plant identification, food prep and storytelling, with lots of play included.
Who is in charge?
Siobhan De Jonghe (Forest School Level 3 / Outdoor Paediatric First Aid Qualified) and Tom Williams (Experienced forest-school volunteer, carpenter and Magdalen resident). Both Siobhan and Tom hold up to date E-DBS.
What are the benefits?
Our motto is “Life is better outdoors”. We believe that children thrive in nature. Our outdoor clubs inspire curiosity, friendships, and love for the natural world.
