Thank You, Kul: Celebrating 23 Years of Leadership at Watmos
After 23 years with Watmos, including more than a decade as Chief Executive, we are saying goodbye to Kul Bains as he moves on from the organisation.
Kul has made a significant and lasting contribution to Watmos and has been central to its development over more than two decades. From the early years of establishing Watmos as one of the country’s leading resident-led housing organisations, through the successful Lambeth stock transfer and the subsequent growth and transformation of the organisation, his leadership has helped shape the Watmos we know today.
During his time as Chief Executive, Watmos has delivered major investment and regeneration programmes, including the transformation of some of its largest and most complex housing stock, secured significant external funding, strengthened its financial position and continued to develop its approach to resident involvement and community leadership.
These achievements have taken place against a backdrop of significant change and increasing complexity across the housing sector.
Just as importantly, Kul has made a lasting contribution through the people he has supported and developed. Many colleagues, both past and present, have benefited from his encouragement, challenge and commitment to helping people grow and succeed. His long-standing relationships with residents, partners, advisers and colleagues across the sector have also been an important part of Watmos' journey.
After 23 years, there is much to thank Kul for. We recognise the commitment, energy, resilience and leadership he has given to Watmos over such a significant period and the contribution he has made to its development and achievements.
We wish Kul every success and happiness for the future and thank him for the very significant part he has played in the Watmos story.
