Walsall Easter Fun Days

Walsall Easter Fun Days
Here we report on some of the fantastic events put on by resident volunteers at Walsall’s Avenues and Sandbank estates.

Avenues Easter fun day

Avenues Easter fun day (By Avenues residents)
Thanks to our hard-working volunteers, residents had a great time at the Avenues Easter fun day. There were crafts, with materials provided. Children really threw themselves into the egg hunt. But the best moment was when the Easter Bunny arrived with chocolate for everyone.
Snacks and drinks made by volunteers went down a treat. Kids said they especially liked the pizza, nuggets and garlic bread. Look out for more events this summer at the Hub, Brownhills!

Avenues Family Fun days are on Wednesdays, 12 - 2pm (22 Jul to 26 Aug) at Avenues Community Hub, Brownhills, WS8 6JJ.

Sandbank’s family Easter event

(By Sandbank residents’ association)
Sandbank residents enjoyed a fun-filled, free Easter event at the community room. Prizes were awarded for the best cards, eggs and bonnets, but nobody went home empty handed, as there were free Easter eggs, refreshments, cakes and raffle prizes.
Children from Bushall Jones school also made Easter cards for residents - a lovely thoughtful way to bring young and old together.

What else is happening at Sandbank?
It might be quicker to say what isn’t happening! Thanks to the residents’ association volunteers, there is no shortage of friendly gatherings.
When residents asked for an affordable Sunday lunch, Carol Tuckley and Sue Perry requested a small amount from the Community Development fund to get started. Soon they were providing a delicious lunch for 20+ residents once a month. The lunch club has now turned into food-themed Fridays. And there are plenty more reasons to get down to Cartwright House - from Monday’s parent & toddler group, to weekend book and games clubs.
Newcomers are always welcome. For more info call 07359 183 503, or email sandbank.src@gmail.com.
